We are able to offer you an exceptional opportunity during your stay: as an aviator and lecturer, André Authier can introduce or re-introduce you to the riches of the Aude region, from a new and extraordinary perspective.

André Authier is a member of the Association des Guides et Conférenciers du Pays Cathare, the author of a book entitled "Les Couleurs de l'Aude" (published by VILO) and a dedicated pilot. He will be inviting you to join in his passion for flying and for the Cathar region on narrated leisure flights. In a succinct, simple and concise style, he'll take you through the historical and scenic jewels of the area as seen from the sky.

In order to comply with current regulations, this aerial stroll will be in the form of a shared-expense flight, according to which the pilot is in charge of the flight and given a fee from his passengers (see below).

The flight, leaving from the Castelnaudary aiport, is conditional on a favourable forecast, and the availability of both plane and pilot.

A historical and geographical demonstration of the area will be given on a map before take-off, as an introduction to the flight. On return, there will be the opportunity for further questions and discussion. Photos may be taken as souvenirs from the cockpit.

Castelnaudary, St Papoul Abbey, the castles of Ferrals , Saissac and Lastours, Carcassonne, Bram, Castelnaudary. Duration around 50 minutes, 92 Euro per flight (46 Euro per person for 2 passengers or 31 Euro per person for three passengers).

Castelnaudary, Mirepoix, the Castles of Monségur, Puivert, Couiza and Coustaussa, Rennes-le-château, the Arques dungeon, St Hilaire Abbey, Carcassonne, Bram, Castelnaudary. Duration around 1h15mn, 138 Euro per flight (69 Euro per person for 2 passengers or 46 Euro per person for three passengers).
